This tutorial will walk you through round six of the Through Any Window Baby Blanket pattern. All six rounds apply to the original version. If you are crocheting the alternate version this tutorial will help you through Round 4: Step Four.
For beginning pattern readers, the first two rounds are spelled out with limited abbreviations.

Thanks a ton!!!!
Which color is main color? The first two steps have brown as Color A and rose as MC, but the rest of the tutorial has them reversed.
Amanda – You’re right! Thanks for pointing out the mistake!
The colors don’t follow the pattern sequence in rounds four through six. Please just imagine for now that the brown and rose are reversed for now in these rows.
All directions, aside from the color sequence appear to be correct.
This is definitely one of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen. And you included left-handed instructions! Oh, joy!
Thank you so much,
Elaine
I agree- very VERY nice tutorial. Great job. It’s hard to show stitches in crochet!
Great tutorial and excellent pics. Well done.
amazing tutorial!!
thankx
Hi –
I may be the only person with this problem, but my project started getting “wavy” on the second pass I made on rows 4-7 and the problem kept getting worse and worse… it’s like there are too many stitches in the rows (especially the row that has 3hdc in each ch1sp) – it makes it flair out… help!
Hello.
First, let me say that this is a beautiful pattern.
There does seem to be a discrepancy between the instructions and the pictures, though, in round 6.
The instructions say:
Ch 1, sk 2 st, 2 hdc in next st…
But in the picture, it looks like you’ve done:
Ch 1, sk 3 st, 2 hdc in next st…
Anyway, thank you for posting this pattern and extra-special thanks for the left-handed instructions.
Megan, I’ve been having the same problem at row 6. Did you do it like what you said looks like in the picture? If so, I’ll try mine that way…….Sharon H.
I am having the same problem as Sharon. My blanket will not lay flat and I am on round 22. What am I doing wrong? Please help. This is for a friend and she is due in 2 wks. I would hate to start over, but if it is the only way to solve the problem I will.
Hi,
Take a look at your pics. When I logged into this address to see your work, I found the message, with no photo at each location in the blog.

Hello.. I absolutely love this blanket and I’m in the process of making a boy version for my friend.. I have a question.. since there are 3 colors involved.. how would you recommend I drop and add colors.. would you say that at the end of rnd 1.. I cut the 1st color yarn and pick up the new color.. or should I drag it along with the new color (which wastes yarn).. my biggest fear is that the blanket will fall apart after 1 wash.. with all the cutting of the yarn and picking it back up.. I was thinking to drag the yarn for the 1st 3 to 4 rnds.. until I get a bigger square… any information and advice will be greatly appreciated!
im a bit of a newbie.. I don´t even know how to make it to the first picture!
I haven´t finished any project at all but I absolutely love the idea of a home-maded plaid…
Could somebody help me out?
By for example explain me the first steps …
Thanks!
Adorei seu blog pois sou canhota e ficou tudo mais fácil.Obrigada. Doris
I LOVE learning new granny squares. Thank you for the tutorial, as I’m SOOO visual!!!!!
